This year, the Trinacria Arts Festival celebrates a decade of art, community, and connection in Pezzolo. What began ten years ago as a small theatre company has expanded into a three-day summer tradition that fills the village with performances, workshops, and cultural events. To mark this milestone, the 2026 edition brings together six extraordinary artists from across the world and across disciplines for a festival that honors everything Pezzolo has built while looking ahead to what comes next.
Quest'anno, il Trinacria Arts Festival celebra dieci anni di arte, comunità e connessione a Pezzolo. Quella che nel 2016 è nata come compagnia teatrale è diventata negli anni una realtà culturale e una tradizione estiva di tre giorni, capace di animare Pezzolo con spettacoli, laboratori ed eventi culturali. Per celebrare questo traguardo, l'edizione 2026 riunisce sei straordinari artisti da tutto il mondo e da diverse discipline per un festival che rende omaggio a tutto ciò che Pezzolo ha costruito, guardando al tempo stesso al futuro.

Attraverso materiali naturali, due forme contrastanti (una delicata, l'altra robusta) si uniscono come disegni tridimensionali, al fine di proteggere l'identità tradizionale di Pezzolo.
This installation is made out of embroidered citrus peels. The design combines sfilato embroidery and metal railings synonymous with Pezzolo. Through natural materials two contrasting forms (one delicate, the other sturdy) come together as three-dimensional drawings in order to protect the traditional identity of Pezzolo.

Siamo orgogliosi di debuttare con questa iniziativa insieme a Trinacria a Pezzolo!
Since 2020, Agitator Artist Collective in Chicago, Illinois has self published an annual compilation of independent comics and animation made by creators at all stages in their creative journey. In 2026, Agitator is taking this effort worldwide, sharing work by international artists in venues outside the States. We are proud to debut this effort with Trinacria in Pezzolo!

Concepita come installazione sonora e performance dal vivo, quest'opera intreccia memoria, luogo e ascolto, tracciando il rapporto mutevole tra il passato, il presente e il futuro del paese attraverso le tracce di vite che restano, scompaiono e ritornano nel suono. Invita gli ascoltatori in un paesaggio immersivo dove suoni e voci diventano al tempo stesso testimonianza e specchio.
Echoes of Uninhabited is a sonic journey through the streets of Pezzolo. Conceived as a sound installation and live performance, it weaves together memory, place, and listening, tracing the shifting relationship between the town's past, present, and future through the traces of lives that remain, disappear, and return in sound. It invites listeners into an immersive landscape where sounds and voices become both witness and mirror.

🕘 11 agosto alle 21:00In Pezzolo, un paese plasmato dalla migrazione e dall'assenza di chi è partito, questa installazione riflette sui movimenti che continuano a trasformare un paesaggio. Bambù trasportato attraverso i continenti, piante che hanno trovato una nuova appartenenza in Sicilia e resti botanici essiccati custodiscono storie di partenza, arrivo, sopravvivenza e rinnovamento. Attivata attraverso il gesto e il movimento dell'ikebana, l'ex chiesa parrocchiale viene reimmaginata come uno spazio di raccolta e riflessione, dove le vite ulteriori delle piante, dei luoghi e delle persone rivelano i molti modi in cui la vita continua attraverso il cambiamento.
In Pezzolo, a village shaped by migration and the absence of those who have departed, this installation reflects on the movements that continue to transform a landscape. Bamboo carried across continents, plants that have found new belonging in Sicily, and dried botanical remains hold stories of departure, arrival, survival, and renewal. Activated through ikebana gesture and movement, the former parish church is reimagined as a space of gathering and reflection, where the afterlives of plants, places, and people reveal the many ways life continues through change.

La cura comunitaria diviene resistenza. L'eredità matrilineare comunica attraverso l'acqua come elemento radice, liquido amniotico di memoria e rinascita.
Unquiet Source is a site-responsive performance bringing sharecropping histories and social struggle to light, restoring the body to its role as a somatic archive that reactivates daily gestures and practices. Community care turns into resistance; matrilineal inheritance communicates through water as a foundational element—an amniotic fluid of memory and rebirth.

During the night of San Lorenzo on August 10th each year, the skies of Pezzolo often light up with shooting stars, in our remote village far from the bright lights of the city. Bring a blanket, towel, or comfy pillow with you, and come relax and stretch out on the soccer field as we gaze up together at the heavens. (weather permitting!)

Dalla nostra prima rappresentazione de La Storia di Colapesce a Pezzolo nel 2016, fino all'ultima edizione del Trinacria Arts Festival, tutto ciò che facciamo è stato plasmato dalla nostra meravigliosa comunità. Speriamo che tu sia con noi mentre spegniamo le candeline sulla nostra torta di compleanno!
It's our 10th birthday, and we'd be so excited if you come to our party! Come celebrate the closing of the Festival--and 10 years of Trinacria--on the piazza of the church where it all began. From our first performance of La Storia di Colapesce in Pezzolo in 2016, to the latest edition of the Trinacria Arts Festival, everything we do has been shaped by our wonderful community. Kassy is an Ikebana practitioner trained in the Sogetsu school, holding a teacher’s diploma from Tokyo since 2025. Ikebana is the art of flower arrangement, grounded in attentiveness to line, space, movement, and the relationship between human and non-human life. Kassy's practice centres on live, improvised Ikebana performance, where arranging becomes a way to explore memory, migration, and the everyday gestures through which a place becomes inhabitable. Recent projects include presentations at Southbank Centre, Chisenhale Dance Space, and Hoxton Hall.
Kassy is also a writer and editor with years of experience collaborating with migrant artists, and works as an advocate and facilitator, coordinating initiatives with underrepresented communities to foster inclusive and welcoming spaces. Her approach to community engagement is grounded in both lived experience and academic study, including an MA in Migration and Diaspora Studies from SOAS University of London.
Kassy Fang è una praticante di Ikebana formata nella scuola Sogetsu, e dal 2025 possiede un diploma di insegnante conseguito a Tokyo. L’Ikebana è l’arte della composizione floreale, fondata sull’attenzione alla linea, allo spazio, al movimento e alla relazione tra vita umana e non umana. La pratica di Kassy si concentra su performance dal vivo di Ikebana improvvisato, in cui il gesto di comporre diventa un modo per esplorare memoria, migrazione e i gesti quotidiani attraverso cui un luogo diventa abitabile. Tra i suoi progetti recenti figurano presentazioni presso Southbank Centre, Chisenhale Dance Space e Hoxton Hall.
Kassy è anche scrittrice ed editor, con anni di esperienza nella collaborazione con artisti migranti, e lavora come advocate e facilitatrice, coordinando iniziative con comunità sottorappresentate per promuovere spazi inclusivi e accoglienti. Gretchen is a storyteller working in comics, writing, curation, and puppetry. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Gretchen co-founded Chicago’s Agitator Artist Collective in 2017, and served as Director from 2023 - 2025. She is currently developing the Dinosaur Opera, a multi-chapter puppet saga exploring the deep past and deep future, and how we understand both in the present day. Gretchen believes that stories told in real time, in living environments, are essential for human joy and survival.
She has been in residence at Buinho Fab Lab, Sundance Academy for the Arts, Atlantic Center for the Arts; and Puppet Lab at Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival. She received a 3Arts Make A Wave grant; a VIDA: Women in Literary Arts Fellowship; and an Esteemed Artist Grant from Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. She teaches at Chicago’s Saint Xavier University.
Gretchen Hasse è una storyteller che lavora tra fumetto, scrittura, curatela e teatro di figura. Ha conseguito un MFA presso la School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Nel 2017 ha co-fondato l’Agitator Artist Collective di Chicago, di cui è stata direttrice dal 2023 al 2025.

Zoe is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and performer whose work explores movement, audiovisual media, and storytelling to confront the politics of identity, decolonization, and social justice. Central to her performances are elements of dance, sound, and live music, with improvisation playing a key role in creating visceral, spontaneous experiences that engage audiences directly. Her approach is straightforward and accessible, aiming to raise awareness and inspire radical visibility. She combines urban grit with poetic resistance to provoke reflection and challenge societal norms. Her performances foster visibility for marginalized voices and encourage dialogue around collective identity and social transformation. As the creator of the UNLEARN Series, she deconstructs Italian identity from the ground up, returning after 16 years abroad to inspire understanding and cosmic expansion.
Zoe Map è un’artista, educatrice e performer multidisciplinare il cui lavoro esplora il movimento, i media audiovisivi e la narrazione per confrontarsi con le politiche dell’identità, la decolonizzazione e la giustizia sociale. Al centro delle sue performance ci sono elementi di danza, suono e musica dal vivo, con l’improvvisazione che svolge un ruolo fondamentale nel creare esperienze viscerali e spontanee, capaci di coinvolgere direttamente il pubblico. Il suo approccio è diretto e accessibile, con l’obiettivo di generare consapevolezza e ispirare una visibilità radicale.
Unisce un’estetica urbana e ruvida a una resistenza poetica, per provocare riflessione e mettere in discussione le norme sociali. Le sue performance danno spazio alle voci marginalizzate e incoraggiano il dialogo intorno all’identità collettiva e alla trasformazione sociale. Attraverso la serie UNLEARN, di cui è ideatrice, decostruisce l’identità italiana dalle fondamenta, tornando dopo 16 anni trascorsi all’estero per stimolare comprensione ed espansione cosmica.

Shelby is a muralist and animator who specializes in creating whimsical, colorful characters. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, she has been working as a public artist in Decatur, Indiana for the past several years. Her work has been shown in the Sioux Falls Sculpture Walk, Midwest Sculpture Initiative, and the Decatur Sculpture Tour, and has been featured in Indianapolis’ Genesis Magazine, Input Fort Wayne Magazine, Visit Fort Wayne, Herron Wearable Art Show, and several exhibitions at ACE 40.8. Davide Grosso, aka SINE, is a musician and sound artist whose practice centers on the physical and poetic qualities of sound. Working with raw sonic materials, he treats voices, noises, and field recordings as living matter to be shaped and transformed. His approach, which he describes as “carving sound waves,” is rooted in deep listening: capturing the essence of places and moments, then reframing them into new sonic environments.
Through an alchemy of magnetic tapes, analog synthesizers, and field recordings, SINE creates layered textures, amplified details, and granular atmospheres. His compositions often blur the boundaries between abstraction and memory, inviting listeners into immersive, intimate soundscapes where the materiality of sound takes center stage.
Moving fluidly between radio, theatre, and sound art, he develops performances, compositions, and installations that explore the tension between documentation and transformation. Each project becomes a space for resonance and perception, a dive into a carefully sculpted sonic realm shaped by texture, depth, and subtle shifts.
Davide Grosso, in arte SINE, è un musicista e sound artist la cui pratica si concentra sulle qualità fisiche e poetiche del suono. Lavorando con materiali sonori grezzi, tratta voci, rumori e registrazioni ambientali come materia viva da modellare e trasformare. Il suo approccio, che descrive come “intagliare le onde sonore”, si basa su un ascolto profondo: catturare l’essenza dei luoghi e dei momenti, per poi rielaborarla in nuovi ambienti sonori.
Attraverso un’alchimia di nastri magnetici, sintetizzatori analogici e field recordings, SINE crea texture stratificate, dettagli amplificati e atmosfere granulari. Le sue composizioni sfumano spesso i confini tra astrazione e memoria, invitando l’ascoltatore in paesaggi sonori immersivi e intimi, in cui la materialità del suono occupa il centro della scena. Muovendosi con naturalezza tra radio, teatro e sound art, sviluppa performance, composizioni e installazioni che esplorano la tensione tra documentazione e trasformazione. Ogni progetto diventa uno spazio di risonanza e percezione, un’immersione in un universo sonoro scolpito con cura, fatto di texture, profondità e sottili variazioni.

Nada is currently in the final year of the undergraduate painting program at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. Graduating from the School of Design in Belgrade in 2021 where she was named Student of the Generation. During her studies, she spent one exchange semester at the Academy of Fine Arts in Xi’an, China, where she studied traditional Chinese painting techniques under Professor Liu Xijie (刘西洁).
In her artistic practice, she explores the relationship between space, culture, and everyday practices, focusing on how cultural influences manifest through subtle details of the urban environment. Working with drawing, embroidery, installation, and other multimedia forms, she investigates how nostalgia, tradition, and contemporary reinterpretations shape the sense of identity and belonging.
She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Serbia and internationally, including exhibitions in Belgrade, Germany, Italy, Latvia, France and Japan. Upcoming projects include solo exhibitions in Novi Sad and Bosilegrad.
Nada Tomić frequenta attualmente l’ultimo anno del corso di laurea triennale in pittura presso la Facoltà di Belle Arti di Belgrado. Si è diplomata alla School of Design di Belgrado nel 2021, dove è stata nominata Studentessa dell’Anno. Durante gli studi ha trascorso un semestre di scambio presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Xi’an, in Cina, dove ha studiato tecniche tradizionali di pittura cinese con il professor Liu Xijie (刘西洁).
Nella sua pratica artistica esplora il rapporto tra spazio, cultura e pratiche quotidiane, concentrandosi su come le influenze culturali si manifestino attraverso dettagli sottili dell’ambiente urbano. Lavorando con disegno, ricamo, installazione e altre forme multimediali, indaga il modo in cui nostalgia, tradizione e reinterpretazione contemporanea plasmano il senso di identità e appartenenza.
Ha partecipato a numerose mostre collettive in Serbia e a livello internazionale, tra cui esposizioni a Belgrado, in Germania, Italia, Lettonia, Francia e Giappone. Tra i suoi prossimi progetti figurano mostre personali a Novi Sad e Bosilegrad.
